Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 1 (8oz) package sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 2 (15.5oz) cans S&W® Garbanzos, Low Sodium (drained, rinsed)
  • 1 quart 33% less sodium fat-free chicken broth
  • 1 (6oz) can tomato paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried majoram leaves
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound bulk Italian sausage
  • 1 (8oz) package sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
  • 2 (15.5oz) cans S&W® Garbanzos, Low Sodium (drained, rinsed)
  • 1 quart 33% less sodium fat-free chicken broth
  • 1 (6oz) can tomato paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried majoram leaves
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

In 4-quart nonstick saucepan, cook sausage, mushrooms and onion over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes or until pork is no longer pink and onions are tender, stirring occasionally to break up sausage. Add all remaining ingredients except cheese. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer 15 minutes. Sprinkle each serving with cheese.

Tips: You can buy an 8oz package of whole mushrooms and slice them yourself, or an 8oz package of pre-sliced mushrooms to save time.

Use mild or hot Italian sausage, whichever your family prefers.
